non-profit search in the metro Detroit area . Our Client,
a large national, private, non-profit, voluntary health organization
seeks a dynamic, effective, customer-focused
Vice President of Development (VPoD)
for the
Michigan region. The VPoD will lead the implementation of development operations and provide oversight & administration of a diversified comprehensive development plan that includes: Relationship events Workplace giving General community cultivation Major gifts with total revenue in the range of $6 - $10 million annually Corporate sponsorship and other corporate gifts focused toward constituents. The VPoD is responsible for recruiting, coaching & managing staff to achieve development goals and ensuring that key volunteers and committees support revenue goals. Works closely with the Board of Directors and other members of the Executive Team. Reports directly to the President/CEO and serves as a member of the Leadership Team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Responsible for recruiting, managing, & developing productive fundraising team and volunteers to implement and achieve the budgeted fundraising goals as a whole, with priority focus on constituent and relationship events. In conjunction with the Chapter President/CEO, and local and home office Major Gifts Officers, identify and secure individual major gifts. Develop and cultivate high level corporate relationships through volunteer leadership, corporate sponsorship and constituent event participation. Provide support and guidance for volunteer leadership recruitment and engagement efforts for the chapter's fundraising initiatives. Participate in the development and implementation of the annual strategic implementation plan, with an emphasis on the growth of mass market/special events and identification and cultivation of prospects for fundraising activities. Analyze/evaluate current corporate and individual donor base to identify opportunities to expand engagement and giving. Promote Association-wide programs and initiatives. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or experience and education that is similarly equivalent. CFRE is a plus but not required. 5+ years proven leadership experience in professional fundraising, utilizing diversified fundraising programs. Proven track record of mobilizing community volunteers to engage in mass market fundraising efforts. Demonstrated success in engaging corporate leadership in supporting local fundraising. Success in making and closing fundraising and volunteer leadership requests of individuals and groups to meet and support fundraising goals. Prior success in leading and managing fundraising staff and volunteers. ADDED SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, early morning and occasional weekends. Ability to travel through the State of Michigan , as well as occasional overnight travel. Seniority level
