Summary/Objective
Responsible for keeping assigned premises clean and orderly. The Environmental Services Technician, under the direction of the Environmental Services Lead is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting. He/she performs a variety of routine cleaning functions as assigned, to maintain a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition throughout all areas.
Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities
Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, residential homes, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (e.g. paper towels, soap, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use. Cleaning may include, but is not limited to, removing trash, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, buffing, cleaning carpets, washing windows scrubbing floors and ceilings, and sanitizing restrooms. Picks up litter and debris on outside grounds. Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal Perform periodic or situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Communicates effectively and professionally with all staff members within the department and company. Reports light outages and other maintenance needs to supervisor. Adheres to rules and standards regarding health and safety. Assist with staff or outside groups using the building for programs, special events or assemblies. Perform set up and tear down of tables, chairs, etc. May lock/unlock areas for access for building use and events. Monitor use of supplies and make purchase requests to supervisor. Work as a team with fellow custodians to get the job done. Secures the facilities, ensuring buildings are locked/unlocked as required. All other duties as assigned. Competencies

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma, GED or environmental services experience. Experience in custodial or environmental services. Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Custodial experience in healthcare facilities, schools, or university settings. One to two years custodial experience. Licensure/Certification
Valid Ohio Driver's License Proof of Insurance
Physical Requirements
Able to stand, kneel, crouch, and crawl Able to walk or run within reason Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds Able to handle exposure to chemicals and cleaning supplies
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment Work is regularly performed in a combination of office, residential, and school environments and is regularly exposed to dust, odors, fumes, noise, and outdoor environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day.
