Trauma Level: II
NICU Level: III
Pediatric Trauma: Level II
Patient Population
High-acuity, critically ill patients:
ARDS, COVID-19, MI, CVA/TIA
Post-cardiac cath, post-surgical, neuro
Multi-system trauma
Cardiac experience preferred: CABG, TAVR (24–48 hrs post-op)
No fresh open hearts unless previously experienced and cleared
RNs may float to ED or Med/Surg/Tele if overstaffed
✅ Experience Requirements
Minimum: 2 years ICU experience excluding travel
1.5 years ICU + other strong RN background: Submit for approval
Not accepting first-time travelers
Traveler must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
Former perm staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Skills & Clinical Requirements
Required Certifications (must be active):
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
TNCC (Required) – must be completed before arrival
Required Skills:
Strong assessment & critical thinking in high-acuity ICU
Vent management, proning, sedation, vasopressors, paralytics
Telemetry & hemodynamic monitoring
Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Skills:
Impella, IABP, CRRT experience
Unit Support
Charge RNs: 2 CRNs covering all ICUs
CNA/Mobility Aide: 1–2 per unit
RT: 24/7
Phlebotomy: Yes (peripheral only)
Midlines: Placed by ICU CRNs
MD Coverage:
3 Intensivists on days
2 Intensivists + 1 APP at night
Charting & Equipment
EMR: Epic
Pumps: Currently Alaris, switching to Baxter by October
