Part-Time
OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) , to join our team of medical professionals in
Cincinnati, OH , where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the
Hamilton County Justice Center.
This position will work 2 8-hour shifts per week. As a
Correctional OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) , you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare to women, focusing on reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth, to the patients in residence. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs. Responsibilities
The
Obstetrics-Gynecology Nurse Practitioner (OB-GYN NP)
performs physical exams, diagnoses and treats conditions, offers family planning, and educates patients on health maintenance. Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Providing gynecological services including well woman care, annual Pap smears and pelvic exams, health education, STD screening and follow up contraceptive counseling and prenatal care and postpartum care
Diagnosing and treating conditions like infections, menstrual problems, and menopause-related issues Prescribing medications, patient counseling and support Collaborating with healthcare teams Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient encounters Formulating a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans Evaluating patients who have returned from off-site treatment Conducting rounds Scheduling and performing laboratory and diagnostic procedures
Qualifications
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Must hold a current unrestricted license as an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner in Ohio Current DEA registration An appropriate collaborative agreement with the on-site Physician Possess an active CPR certification Be certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills Have strong computer skills Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
