We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Sonographer to join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region. In this role, you will be instrumental in diagnosing and monitoring cardiac conditions through expert ultrasound imaging. Collaborating closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals, you will provide vital information that supports patient care and treatment planning.
Your responsibilities will include performing echocardiograms using advanced 2D, color flow, and spectral Doppler imaging techniques to evaluate cardiac structures accurately. You will measure echocardiographic data precisely and input findings into the cardiac reporting system, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results. This position involves working in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency room settings, performing a variety of exams such as adult echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and limited pediatric echocardiograms. Use of saline contrast and ultrasound enhancing agents will also be part of your duties as needed.
Providing patient education and support is essential, as you will explain procedures and address concerns to maintain comfort and safety. Staying current with advancements in cardiac ultrasound technology and cardiology best practices is encouraged to foster professional growth.
Education
Associate's degree in a relevant field or completion of an accredited echocardiography program. Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography (AE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or registry eligibility upon hire with successful certification within 12 months. Experience and Requirements
Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology. Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and performing echocardiographic procedures. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Capability to meet the physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodations. Reliable attendance and participation in meetings as required.
