Job Description Job Title: Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Operative Unit
Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: Asheville, NC Type: Contract Position
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre-Operative Unit. This role requires a focus on patient care and safety in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will be essential in providing excellent clinical quality and nurturing patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care and support to patients undergoing pre-operative assessments. - Conduct critical procedures including large-bore IV starts, skin assessments, and assist with arterial and central line placements, as well as epidural insertions. - Prepare and transport patients to the Operating Room, assisting with induction, intubation, and positioning. - Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and systems to ensure optimal patient care. - Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory. - Prior critical care experience is required; experience in pre-operative or high-acuity settings is a plus. - Strong critical thinking and independent working abilities are essential. - Familiarity with electronic documentation systems, preferably Cerner.
