Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/22/2025 Duration: 12 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Position Title: Invasive Cardiology Scrub Tech (RCIS)\nLocation: 391 Wallace Road, Nashville, TN\nUnit: Cardiology\nCost Center: 76200\nSchedule: Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30 call every other week (1 week on, 1 week off)\nDress Code: Red or Black scrubs, or hospital-laundered OR blue scrubs\n\n Unit Overview:\n\nThe Cardiology Unit at SHMC is a high-volume invasive cardiology department supporting a 125-bed hospital, with a strong reputation for cardiac excellence. This unit performs complex cardiac procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.\n\nBed Count: 125\n\nNurse/Tech-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 during procedures\n\nStaffing: Includes RCIS techs and support staff\n\nTechnology: GE Core equipment, Mac-Lab for documentation, Meditech EHR\n\n Core Responsibilities:\n\nScrub for invasive cardiac procedures, including:\n\nLeft/Right Heart Caths (LHC/RHC)\n\nPercutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) - 24-hour STEMI facility\n\nCardioMEMS, loop recorders, pacemakers (PPM), ICDs\n\nSupport the use of advanced equipment such as:\n\nIntra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)\n\nImpella\n\nOptical Coherence Tomography (OCT)\n\nIntravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)\n\nFractional Flow Reserve (FFR)\n\nMonitor patient hemodynamics and assist in emergent interventions\n\nCollaborate with physicians, RNs, and other techs using a high-functioning team approach\n\nRotate on call every other week for emergency cases\n\n Required Skills & Experience:\n\nMUST HAVE:\n\nInvasive cardiology scrub experience (monitoring experience preferred)\n\nProficiency in sterile technique and interventional procedures\n\nPreferred:\n\nFamiliarity with STEMI workflow and device implant protocols\n\nSoft Skills:\n\nStrong multitasking\n\nEffective communication\n\nProven ability to function in a high-pressure team environment\n\n Certifications Required:\n\nRCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) - Required\n\nACLS (AHA) - Required\n\nBLS (AHA) - Required About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
