Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP)

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) to join four pediatric neurosurgeons and three current physician assistants in our Neurosurgery Division.

Responsibilities include assisting with inpatient care, inpatient consultations, first-assisting in the operating room on a wide range of pediatric neurosurgical cases and seeing patients in the outpatient clinic. APP's are encouraged to be involved in research projects. The full team of APP's will rotate first call for the hospital, supporting the on-call neurosurgeon.

Successful candidate needs to be team-oriented, self-motivated, patient-centric, and interested in continuous learning. Eligibility for an unrestricted California Physician Assistant license is required. Experience in pediatric neurosurgery, general neurosurgery, or pediatrics is preferred. Training can be provided. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Our Neuroscience Institute at CHOC features neurosurgery, neurology, neuro-psychiatry, neuroradiology, and neuro-interventional radiology. Through our high-volume institute, we care for Orange County's neurosurgical and neurological cases plus referrals from surrounding counties and states. We feature state of the art neuroscience technology including a Stealthstation 8™, ROSA™ robot, Monteris Laser Ablation System, and capabilities in deep brain stimulation, responsive neuro stimulators and vagal neuro stimulators. Our institute has a growing research component with involvement in inter-disciplinary research studies.

Annual salary range is $141,794 to $233,958
