Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associate's Degree in related field required Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
Must have one of the following primary certification: NMTCB(CNMT)
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist ARRT(N)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology Additional post-primary advanced certification preferred: ARRT(CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Computed Tomography NMTCB(PET)
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Positron Emission Tomography NMTCB(NCT)
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Nuclear Cardiology Technologist
Requirements
2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
CTNM - State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine all scopes including venipuncture required
Responsibilities
Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department
