We are seeking a
Microbiology/Molecular Tech
to join our laboratory team in
East Providence, RI . This role involves performing
microbiology and molecular diagnostic testing
to identify infectious agents and provide critical data for patient treatment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in
bacteriology, virology, molecular diagnostics, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing . Key Responsibilities:
Perform
microbiological cultures, Gram stains, PCR, and molecular diagnostic tests . Identify
bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic pathogens . Operate and maintain
molecular and microbiology instrumentation . Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment. Ensure compliance with
CAP, CLIA, and laboratory regulatory standards . Participate in
quality control, proficiency testing, and troubleshooting . Qualifications:
Required:
Associate s or Bachelor's Degree in
Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a related field . Preferred:
Certification as
MLS(ASCP), M(ASCP), or equivalent . Preferred:
Experience in
microbiology and molecular diagnostics .
