ASCP Sterile Processing Technician

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Sterile Processing Technician, where your attention to detail ensures the safety and efficiency of medical procedures across the Southern Gulf Coast region. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and sterilizing medical instruments and supplies, playing a vital part in patient care and infection control.
Key Responsibilities
Gather used and contaminated equipment for sorting and thorough decontamination. Manually clean instruments, removing contaminants and waste, while operating sterilization machinery. Prepare and package supplies for sterilization, ensuring proper wrapping and organization into instrument trays. Monitor sterilization equipment performance and promptly report any malfunctions or issues. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. Control inventory levels by reordering supplies and checking expiration dates regularly. Support surgical and medical teams by preparing necessary instruments and medical carts for procedures.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CBSPD or IAHCSMM) is preferred.
Experience
Previous experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare environment is highly valued.
