Job Summary The County of San Diego, Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) has immediate openings for: CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT This position is eligible for appointment at step 3, $45,406.40 annually. base pay (3% Across-the- Board + 2.17% Market Adjustment) HOURLY RATES AND PREMIUMS Certified Nurse Assistant positions work under the supervision of registered nurses (RN's) or licensed vocational nurses (LVN's) to assist with patient care including bathing and feeding, maintaining supplies in a clean and orderly manner, and guiding patients through daily routines. Duties also include: assists with handling confused, agitated, disturbed or combative patients; observes patient behavior and, as needed, reports observations to professional staff; records observations and documents the patient's condition and progress in the patient's medical record; and assists other staff in setting up and directing recreational activities for patients. EDGEMOOR The Edgemoor facility provides 24-hour long term skilled nursing care for individuals having complex medical needs who require specialized interventions from highly trained staff. It is a FIVE STAR facility, having received this highest rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and a perfect score for nearly two years. It has been named yearly as one of the top nursing facilities in the USA by US News and World Report since 2012. The facility has been on a Baldridge quality journey which has involved the actions of each staff member. Over the last seven years, the facility earned the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards for excellence in quality. Of note, since 1996 only 34 facilities in the USA out of 15,600 facilities nationwide have earned this extremely prestigious award. SAN DIEGO COUNTY PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL

The San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital (SDCPH) is a Joint Commission Accredited, publicly funded, free-standing 24-hour psychiatric hospital. It is a locked facility and a component of the San Diego County Behavioral Health Services' continuum of care. The mission of the Hospital is to provide psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention-oriented acute treatment for adult residents of San Diego County. The goal of the Hospital is to stabilize patients' behavioral health crisis and move ahead to a less restrictive level of care.

Certified Nurse Assistants at the Psychiatric Hospital are assigned to one of two shifts: Morning (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or Night (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.).

Possession of a California Nurses Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health is required at time of appointment.
