Summary
Performs routine and terminal cleaning under supervision,including but not limited to: Mopping, dusting, sweeping, trash removal, windowcleaning, disinfecting patient rooms, cleaning laboratories, and interactingwith patient in a hospital environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
OPERATING ROOM AREA Transport patients to and from the operatingroom area. Ensure patient safety. Reports any patient complaints. Assist nursing with transferring patients toand from the operating room bed and moving heavy equipment. Assists in positioning patients forsurgery. Assists with positioning andholding patient extremities during prep. Transport specimens to the laboratory. Clean operating room suites and other restrictedareas. Terminally clean OR suites asassigned daily. Cleans vertical andhorizontal surfaces that collect dust. Cleans tops of windows, doorframes, TV'sand other high places, using ladder when necessary. Dusts, cleans and polishes furnitureincluding beds. Re-stock supplies, linens and fill the blanketwarmers in the sterile core as needed. Washes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces supplies, such aspaper towels, soaps and toilet paper as needed. Polishes metal or other bright surfaces, cleaning glass and enamelfixtures with proper cleaning chemicals. Clean stretchers and beds and replacesheets. Maintain equipment storagerooms. Perform individual daily extraassignments as assigned. Assists in maintaining the cleanliness ofequipment. Dispose all linen and trash in the appropriatemanner. Empty and replace sharpscontainers in all rooms. Mop floors in all areas on a daily basis. Checkand restock mop heads several times a day. Terminallycleans:
Machines after each case Tables after each case Stools after each case Equipment (i.e. lights, orbiters, etc.) Doors Perform other job-related duties as assigned bydirector/charge nurse. Video monitoring may be additional responsibility. Core Competencies
