Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity Oregon Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Opportunity: The Psych NP will provide evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders and also provide emergency care/consultation, psycho-social and physical assessment and manage patient care in conjunction with the clinical team. Will consult and educate patients and families. Prescribe and manage medication and complete appropriate documents pertaining to services provided. Psychiatric nurse practitioners work closely with counseling, social work, and support staff to address problems in a strengths-based, team approach. Were seeking a PMHNP to work 25-40 hours per week. We offer flexible work schedules most NPs work four-day weeks. There are no on-call responsibilities. There are no clinical supervision responsibilities but there is a strong sense of team, and NPs are seen as consultants to other clinicians. Most NP appointments are for a half hour. First visits are usually scheduled for an hour. Prior to seeing the NP, almost all clients have a mental health assessment conducted by a mental health professional. On average we expect NPs to see 10-11 clients per day. NPs are responsible for signing off on annual mental health assessment updates.
