Overview
Pediatrics of Southwest Houston is hiring a bilingual (English/Spanish) Pediatric Provider — accepting Pediatricians (MD/DO) and Nurse Practitioners (PNP/FNP). Join a patient‑focused, collaborative clinic providing primary pediatric care to Southwest Houston families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and episodic pediatric conditions within your licensure and scope of practice.
Perform well-child and sick visits, developmental/behavioral screenings, and immunization counseling and administration.
Prescribe and manage medications and treatment plans; order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
Coordinate referrals to specialists and collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Deliver culturally competent health education and anticipatory guidance to patients and families in English and Spanish.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR and comply with clinic policies and quality metrics.
Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and continuing education.
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD/DO) in Pediatrics or graduate degree as a Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP) with pediatric clinical training.
Active, unrestricted Texas medical or nurse practitioner license (or actively pursuing licensure).
National board certification or eligibility appropriate to your role.
Fluent in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Current BLS certification; PALS preferred.
Excellent clinical judgment, organization, and ability to work in a busy outpatient pediatric setting.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Minimum 1 year of pediatric outpatient experience preferred; new graduates with pediatric training may be considered.
Proficiency with EMR systems for charting, orders, and results.
Knowledge of pediatric vaccination schedules, growth and development monitoring, and common outpatient procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to family-centered, culturally sensitive care.
