Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help individuals with communication disorders improve their speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication skills. Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting, or a related field approved by the state licensing board, SLPA license or certification as required by the state, completion of supervised clinical fieldwork experience, basic knowledge of speech-language pathology terminology, developmental milestones, and therapy practices, and such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
