Occupational Therapist

Performs professional Occupational Therapy activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual and group treatment activities in a collaborative child- and family-centered service delivery model.

Responsibilities

Interpret a physician's referral and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures. Evaluate patients in the relevant occupational therapy domains, including component skills that may be restricting independence and/or participation. Interpret child and family concerns as well as data collected through standardized assessment and skilled observation, and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment. Inform patient and family goals and progress. Maintain a full-time caseload that may include children and families receiving services through insurance, school-based services, consultation, or private pay models of service delivery. May supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(s). May supervise students. Skills, Qualifications, and Certifications/Licensure Requirements

Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist OR eligible to sit for the exam. License must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Professional writing skills that include the ability to reflect medical necessity in documentation and communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team as well as other stakeholders in a child's plan of care. Time management skills necessary to meet clinic requirements for clinician efficiency as well as documentation and billing timeframes.
