VCA Big Lake Animal Hospital located in Wasilla AK, is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our small animal general practice. Compensation: $27 - $30 / hour Negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. Requirements: Active CVT in AK or transferable credentials with a minimum of one year as CVT Location: 9750 W. Parks Highway Wasilla, AK 99654 Schedule: Full-time opportunity. 4/10's, Mon-Friday with rotating Saturdays. Closed Sunday and Holidays. Why We Want You and Technician Utilization
Our Veterinary Technicians are trusted by our Veterinarians. Our team works together seamlessly to provide exceptional care to each patient from intake to discharge. We are dependable, adaptable, fun, and detail-oriented. You are a seasoned Veterinary Technician and we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures. Venipuncture and IVC placement Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc. Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team. Recognize subtle change in clinical status. Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them. Complete estimates, basic record keeping. Surgical preparation and assisting. Anesthesia monitoring. Dentistry and dental radiographs. Requirement: Must have a current veterinary technician license in the state of Oregon or be eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Oregon.
