WSWHE BOCES is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based team. The therapist will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to provide high-quality therapy services that help students develop the skills necessary for success in their educational environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of school-based therapy, special education laws, and individualized student support plans. Assess students' fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills to determine therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with each student's IEP. Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to support students' participation in academic and daily school activities. Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify classroom environments and materials to enhance student success. Educate school staff and parents on strategies to support students' motor and sensory needs in the classroom. Maintain accurate records, including daily session notes, assessment results, IEP progress, and other documentation or reports as needed. Schedule and complete evaluation reports using standardized testing, clinical observations, and parent/teacher reports. Collaborate regularly with teachers, other related service providers, and administration; attend team and staff meetings as required.
