This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position that includes tasks or duties (i.e., driving) that the employer in good faith believes could affect the safety, health or reputation of the Agency, participants, the employee performing the task or othersQualifications RequiredHS diploma or GED plus Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited programIf position requires driving, Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record including but not limited to no serious traffic violations (ie. Reckless Driving; at fault accident; felony speeding/20 mph or over) or greater than 2 traffic violations in prior 39 months and reliable transportation.Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health recordsMust obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and successful completion of a background checkMental and EmotionalMental and emotional requirements include prioritizing workload, decision-making ability, using sound judgment to field inquiries concerning administrative, clinical and operational concerns and ability to greet and deal effectively with participants, families, staff and community members.PhysicalLong periods of sitting, ability to bend, lift and carry up to 50 poundsAble to operate phone, Fax, copier, and a computerSeries of Hepatitis B shots or declination of same at hireProof of negative TB test or declination of same at hireEncounter occasionally hazards such as, but not limited to, bodily fluids and potentially infectious materialsQualifications PreferredBilingual English/Spanish or English/Sign Language.Previous front and back-office experience in a primary care setting
