The HVAC System Development lead functions as the central point of contact for the HVAC system for a specific architectural program. The System Development leads a cross-functional working-level team of engineers across multiple vehicle, releasing, powertrain and energy management groups and will provide technical guidance, leadership of development tasks and information sharing regarding vehicle, architectural and HVAC system updates. Strong leadership and communication skills are required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree field
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in HVAC design and system level development/validation
Experience with HVAC bench level testing for HVAC sizing
Experience with Electro-Mechanical HSW, HS and VS
Experience with development of DVP&R, DFMEA, testing and lab procedures
Experience with impact of vehicle's primary, secondary and auxiliary systems on HVAC performance
Experience with development of BEV architectures
Experience with vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition, collecting, processing and reporting out on data
Experience with drivecell and FMVSS compliance testing
Experience in assisting with development of HVAC units, ducts, AC compressor and HVAC controls
Experience in 1D simulation tools, AMSIM, CULI, GT Power, etc.
Experience with CATIA or Teamcenter
Strong program management, time management and interpersonal skills
Strong issue resolution and technical skills
Strong communication and problem-solving ability
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in engineering Design for Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification
