Summary
This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) for DINFOS Risk Management Framework (RMF), Network Systems Security Authorization Agreement and/or DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) documents.

As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Managing and maintaining cybersecurity controls to protect Department of Defense training systems, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Making informed decisions regarding the implementation and operation of cybersecurity tools in coordination with other ISSOs and the ISSM. Applying thorough knowledge of network and application security, operating systems, endpoint protection, and mobile device security to safeguard information systems. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53, and JFHQ-DODIN 8600-22, and apply them in system authorization and compliance efforts. Leads and supports RMF activities for assigned systems, including developing and updating System Security Plans (SSPs) and other authorization artifacts in eMASS. Performs system security evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and audits, coordinating remediation activities with stakeholders. Collaborating with other ISSOs, ISSM, and cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous system security posture and provide mentorship or guidance to junior staff as needed. Requirements

A Bachelor of Science Degree in any IT field is preferred. This position requires the incumbent to report to work or remain on the job in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack until relieved by the proper authority. A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-11
grade level in the Federal service:
Independently performing Information Assurance (IA) activities that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DoD systems and networks. Conducting security reviews of application designs, software development practices, source code, and system deployments. Ensuring compliance of systems, tools, and applications with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, National Institute of Standers and Technology (NIST) security controls, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Utilizing cybersecurity tools to perform vulnerability scanning, system monitoring, and incident detection and supporting remediation efforts. Supporting the preparation and maintenance of RMF authorization packages, including System Security Plans and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
