Skills and Qualifications

Excellent work attendance is required Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with school based applications such as PowerSchool preferred Strong analytical, communication and human relations skills Knowledge of special education process and procedures preferred Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in dealing with parents, staff, the Board of Education and the public Assist in the PPT process and scheduling Maintain a variety of manual/electronic documents and records Works with Special Education staff to process district paperwork such as IEP services, 3rd party billing, fiscal budgets, extended school year and transportation as well as requests for reimbursement, purchase orders, recertification hours, student files, and transportation for students Attend training sessions, district in-service programs and staff meetings as needed. Assist with data collection for local, state, and federal reporting Maintain professional calendar for Director of Special Education and special education staff Serve as liaison with bus companies and local agencies Assist the Director of Special Education in ESY, coordination of speech, OT and PT services for special education students Assist in budget preparation and tracking, including the monitoring of income and expenses to the special education budget and IDEA grant Ensures that highly privileged and sensitive information regarding the school district and individual students is maintained in a highly confidential manner Other duties as assigned
