Position Summary
As a smaller firm, our team values collaboration, precision, and professionalism in delivering defensible and well-researched valuations. We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a Real Estate Research & Appraisal Support Associate. This is a critical support role for our appraisal team involving in-depth real estate research, data verification, and report production assistance. The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) year of experience in the commercial real estate sector and a strong understanding of property research fundamentals. This position is in-office and best suited to someone who thrives in a small-firm environment where adaptability, initiative, and professionalism are essential and recognized.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on land, residential, and commercial property sales, including confirmation of sale terms, buyer intent, and transaction conditions
Collect and interpret property records including deeds, tax data, plats, zoning, traffic counts, flood plain data, utility maps, pipeline/powerline easements, and title documents
Track comparable sales and maintain internal databases with accurate and up-to-date property data
Assist with data entry for property and land transactions into appraisal software and Excel-based systems
Support the appraisal and consultation team with printing, scanning, filing, binding, and compiling reports and exhibits
Communicate with real estate professionals, government offices, and title companies to verify information
Help maintain organized project files and meet deadlines across multiple assignments

Qualifications
Minimum one (1) year of experience in commercial real estate, title research, appraisal, or brokerage support
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with limited supervision
Organized, professional, and self-directed with a strong work ethic
Preferred Experience
Experience working with legal documents and public records related to real estate
Background in appraisal, title, brokerage research, property acquisition, or eminent domain-related work
Working knowledge of zoning codes, flood plain analysis, or infrastructure easement research
Familiarity with real estate data sources such as county appraisal district websites, MLS systems, CoStar, GIS mapping tools, etc.
