Benefits Specialist
Location: Greensboro, NC 27401
Position:Benefits Specialist
Pay Rate: $43.33/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hrs/week)
JOB SUMMARY:
This role will serve as the key liaison between the TPA, CH payroll, and other vendor partnerships. The primary functions will ensure accurate data processing, regulatory compliance, and timely resolution of employee inquiries related to retirement benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administer the company’s retirement plans (403b, 403b match, 457b), including overseeing employee enrollments, deferral changes, distributions, and terminations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination between the payroll department and plan provider.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll contributions and plan data.
• Monitor plan compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements, and coordinate annual testing and audits.
• Respond to employee questions regarding plan participation, loan options, distributions, vesting, upcoming retirement and other plan features.
• Conduct employee education sessions and support retirement planning communication initiatives.
• Maintain and reconcile plan records and documentation as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of Human Resources experience
Must have strong retirement plan administration experience (please note this on resume)
Strong knowledge of all federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements and other laws affecting benefit programs including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, Section 125, DOL requirements.
Proficiency in HRIS applications
Open enrollment experience
Outsourced vendor project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word and Power Point) is strongly preferred
CBP or CEBS preferred
