Electrical Engineer

Design lighting, power distribution, and low voltage systems for commercial, industrial, and military construction of various building types. The Electrical Engineer will work independently and as part of a team, effectively conveying technical information, collaborating with team members, and communicating with clients.

Electrical design, including lighting, power, and systems, using Revit for modeling.
Travel to job sites for verifying existing conditions and data gathering.
Coordinate with electric utility company representatives.
Meet with clients to discuss project requirements.
Conduct building assessments and prepare detailed reports.
Manage varied workload from large to small projects, meeting all deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to electrical design, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.
Research and apply updates to building codes and standards.
Knowledge of lighting concepts, technologies, controls, calculations, and emergency lighting.
Knowledge of power distribution strategies, including generator-backed systems, load calculations, and short circuit concepts.
General knowledge of low voltage systems such as network cabling, nurse call, security systems.
Proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Excel and Word for design calculations and project documentation.
Self-motivated team player capable of collaborating across disciplines to meet project deadlines.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Creative problem-solving skills for design challenges.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects within scope, schedule, cost, and quality standards.
Qualifications / Prior Experience
5-10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering.
Experience managing projects from concept through completion, including drawings, specifications, and narratives.
Experience with electrical building design, power distribution, and lighting systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Power Tools for Windows (PTW), and Easy Power is preferred.
FE or PE licensure is preferred.
RCCD Certification is preferred.
Travel requirement: 5% – 10%.
