Administrative support role for currently enrolled students. This is an off campus Federal Work Study Position. Job Location: Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, 3000 N. Elbridge, Chicago, IL 60618 RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director / Fiscal Manager, the Accounting Assistant I will work on items related to the business operation of the organization and will assist with the monthly agency reporting. Review and enter cash receipts and accounts payable data. Review accounts payable for accuracy and prepare checks for payments. Assist with general ledger data input. Perform bank and other account reconciliations. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports. Prepare fiscal reports for funders and for auditing purposes. Assist with the annual audit of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants will hold at least a High School Diploma and be presently enrolled in an accounting or business management program. Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and strong communication skills are required. Must have strong computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus. Candidates must also have strong organizational skills for assisting in the preparation and updating of important accounting files and other agency materials. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a current student in good standing with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester. FWS fund eligible.
