JOB SUMMARY The Catering Manager is the local, on-property sales contact responsible for proactively soliciting and handling all revenue-related opportunities. They actively upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue and achieve personal and team goals. The role ensures timely and proper turnover of business for service delivery. BUSINESS RESULTS Builds top-line revenue by following sales strategies set by the Director of Sales & Marketing, identifying revenue opportunities based on event profiles. Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals by managing budgets, upselling, and maximizing revenue opportunities. Acts as a sales process standard-bearer and mentor within the team. Understands the market, including competitors, economic trends, and supply/demand dynamics. Develops relationships with existing and new customers through calls, entertainment, FAM trips, etc. Conducts customer site inspections. Focuses on proactive selling, targeting key accounts and segments, and saturating accounts with sales efforts. Responds to inquiries within 4 hours. Closes opportunities based on market conditions and hotel needs. Forecasts group room nights and revenue accurately before turnover and continues collaboration afterward. Creates sales contracts as needed. Understands budgets and manages to achieve or surpass financial goals. GUEST SATISFACTION Ensures high customer satisfaction and builds long-term relationships for future revenue. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers about event details and follows up post-event. Maintains a visible presence during events, greets customers, and coordinates with the Convention Services team. Provides leadership in guest hospitality, ensuring services meet or exceed expectations, fostering loyalty, and increasing market share. Engages with guests for feedback, handles complaints, and reviews Guest Service Results with leadership. Uses hotel systems to manage customer information daily. LEADERSHIP Applies broad business knowledge, balancing short- and long-term strategies to lead effectively. Demonstrates commitment to Driftwood Hospitality Management principles. Holds self and others accountable, addresses conflicts promptly, and contributes to team results. Adapts to change effectively and makes informed decisions. Recognizes personal strengths and areas for improvement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Minimum 3+ years of progressive sales experience; hospitality experience preferred, especially in luxury or experiential services. Strong negotiation, sales, and relationship management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Delphi systems, and research skills. Ability to prospect, up-sell, and manage inventories effectively. Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and closing skills. Knowledge of hotel operations, AV products, contract management, and financial principles.
