Material Processor
You will be the material processor. Our team troubleshoots and expedites the flow of work, materials, parts, tools, supplies and related documentation within or between various manufacturing areas where normal expediting procedures are inadequate or have failed to overcome production delays. This is a 1st Shift position. As the Material Processor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Investigates production delays or procedural discrepancies requiring attention to eliminate potential difficulties; isolates and analyzes the specific problem or problems to determine the cause and takes necessary action to resolve the problem and follows up to see that appropriate measures are taken to eliminate recurrences. Coordinates or directs the performance of material searches and inventory of materials, parts, tools, and supplies as required. May assist lower graded Production Control employees in resolving critical problems in assigned areas regarding manufacturing difficulties, engineering changes or serious production delays. Makes, schedules status and other Production Control related input into computer systems as required. Receives, stores, issues, transfers, maintains, for general purpose standard tools including cutters, drills, gauges, soldering irons, jigs, templates, attachments and other crib items. Responds to requests (both verbal/written) on locating standard tools; issues to only authorized employees standards tools such as slotting cutters, butt mills, face mills, angle cutters, slitting saws, etc. Maintains computerized and/or manual tool control records of all tools and equipment showing receipt, location, disbursement, and makes necessary changes on the computer as tools and equipment are issued, transferred, and received. Checks returned tools for condition and makes proper disposition - returning to storage, forwarding to repair areas, or scrapping through data collection system. Determines the need and justification for ordering new or replacement standard tools. Maintains records of all gauging tools requiring periodic inspection. Locates and submits tools for inspection and/or calibration as required. Participates in semi-annual audits or discretionary audits by supervision or Corporate. Must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in accordance with the collective Bargaining Agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW. Strong organizational and tracking skills. Ability to read & understand technical based bill of materials. Ability to lift and move manufactured assemblies, parts and materials to and from various locations within the manufacturing facility. Expertise in providing status to others in a complex/fluid environment. Ability to work with others in a team environment and at the same time be comfortable working alone on special tasks.
