Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following:

Place purchase requisitions for maintenance parts, and services. Receive parts and supplies in to inventory. Maintain daily inventory log and replenishment orders, verify parts used from work orders and process inventory transactions. Work with vendors and contractors on site to coordinator regular deliveries of parts and supplies. Maintain and track supplies for maintenance and production. Work with vendors and OEM’s on pricing and parts sourcing for competitive quotes to reduce parts cost. Conduct periodic inventory audits to reconcile physical inventory and MAS 500 electronic inventory. Manage maintenance parts inventory and store room area and shelving, ensure all parts and supplies are adequately labeled and organized. Maintain a clean and orderly parts room in compliance with all safety, food safety, SQF, GMP, PSM, and USDA requirements. Work with Maintenance Technicians to identify spare parts requirements and determine parts needed for jobs; identify obsolete parts and determine suitable replacements. Demonstrate and enforce safe work practices and compliance with all established safety policies and procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and with changing environmental conditions. Must be well organized and proficient in planning, ordering, and inventory. Individual must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks. Basic knowledge of all maintenance crafts and tools is required, including a basic knowledge of parts for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, controls, hydraulics, and lubricants. Prior experience with parts ordering and inventorying is preferred. Must be self-motivated and a team player, with a personal commitment to integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, respect, quality and reliability.

Education and/or Experience

An associate’s degree or equivalent in business or a technical trade field is preferred, or a combination of experience in maintenance and parts related ordering and management. 5 years maintenance or parts ordering and inventory experience is preferred. Experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment is preferred.

Communication Skills

Individual must possess excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills to be able to interact with outside customers and vendors in accordance with Salm Partners values. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, purchase agreements, quoted proposals, and equipment manuals. Must be able to read and interpret OEM schematics and parts lists.

Computer Skills

Must have strong computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet. Prior experience using an ERP or CMMS software to manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and inventories. Experience with Sage MAS 500 or MPulse is a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Individual must have basic math skills.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Individual must also possess strong negotiating skills and strong judgment & decision-making ability.

Physical Demands

Performing the duties of this job requires frequent standing for extended periods; must be able to walk; sit, climb, and talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, with repetitive motions of hands, arms and shoulders. Must regularly lift up to 50# and periodically lift and/or move up to 75#. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Work Environment

The work environment described here is representative of those an encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. There is a wide variation of temperatures, ranging from 35° F to 100° F in the various work areas. The work environment is wet and slippery most times, and the noise level in the production work environment is usually loud. Maintenance Partners are required to wear frocks, hairnets, hearing protection, and EH-rated composite toed slip-resistant footwear at all times on the production floor. Gloves, goggles, and face shield may be required at different times in the course of the work being performed.
