Cleared Lead System Administrator
SG2 Recruiting seeks a Cleared Lead System Administrator to support a Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) contract. The NCST is located at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC, and is the leading laboratory for Navy space programs. NCST's mission is to "preserve and enhance a strong space technology base and provide expert capabilities in the development and acquisition of space systems which support Naval missions." For the last 25 years, the NCST has developed, enhanced, and maintained a collection of software used for design, development, test, launch, and mission operations of DoD space assets. This software is continually enhanced to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for space applications. The core suite of software components is used in all aspects of the spacecraft or component life-cycle. What You Will Be Doing:
Providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems Managing IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems Providing support to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc Providing Tier I (Help Desk) and II (advanced troubleshooting) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems Providing support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers Providing support for the tracking system and hardware problems, and remaining involved in the resolution process Configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems Installing/loading the operating system and the application software Isolating and resolving hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof Troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance Integrating new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems Managing all virtual machines required by the division using software similar to VMPlayer V6 Managing the licenses and renewals for the 3rd party software required by the division (i.e., JIRA, VxWorks, Crucible/Fisheye, Klocwork, Red Hat, etc) What You Will Need (Requirements)
Active Top Secret / SCI Eligible Minimum B.Sc., Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics Experience with Unix, Linux, Wintel, and VXWorks Operating systems Experience with overseeing system administration of highly reliable and high-capacity servers and databases Ability to commute daily to the Naval Research Lab location in Washington,DC
