Position Summary
The Communications & Marketing Coordinator supports the organizations mission by managing social media, creating compelling content, and coordinating marketing efforts across platforms. This role is ideal for a creative, organized communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and enjoys engaging with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and schedule content across social media platforms using tools like Hootsuite or Loomly Create visual assets using Canva and basic photo/video editing tools Write engaging copy for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and promotional materials Track analytics and performance metrics to inform strategy Collaborate with staff, program participants, and external partners to capture stories and media Support event coverage, including occasional evenings and weekends Assist with internal communications and brand consistency
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related fieldor equivalent work experience 12 years of professional or internship experience in social media, content creation, or marketing coordination Experience in nonprofit or mission-based communications is a plus

Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. At least 12 years of professional or internship experience in social media management, content creation, or marketing coordination. Nonprofit or mission-based communications experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Strong writing and storytelling skills with attention to brand voice and tone. Proficient in Canva, social scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Loomly), and common analytics tools. Ability to shoot and edit basic photo and video content using a smartphone or basic editing software. Organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Comfortable interacting with staff, program participants, and external partners in both professional and community settings.
