Job Summary
As the
Maître D',
you will be the face of hospitality and the driving force behind front-of-house operations. This dual role requires a refined presence on the dining room floor and strong administrative leadership behind the scenes. You will lead a team of service professionals to deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding the highest standards of fine dining service. From staffing and training to reservations and floor management, you will ensure every detail of service is executed with precision, elegance, and warmth.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and develop all front-of-house staff in accordance with fine dining service standards
Lead daily pre-shift meetings and serve as the on-the-floor leader during service
Oversee scheduling, payroll, inventory, and cost controls to maintain operational efficiency
Manage reservation platforms, guest bookings, and floor plans to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
Create daily seating charts and server station assignments, adjusting for business volume
Design and enforce service protocols, side work duties, and cleanliness standards
Act as the primary liaison between service staff, culinary team, and management to ensure seamless execution
Maintain a visible and gracious presence in the dining room, greeting guests and handling service recovery as needed
Investigate and resolve guest concerns with professionalism and diplomacy
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and genuine hospitality
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or equivalent fine dining management experience
6-8 years of experience in upscale or fine dining environments, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Strong leadership and team development skills, with proven success in coaching and motivating staff
Expertise in guest relations, service standards, and floor management
Proficiency in reservation systems, POS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong financial acumen including budgeting, inventory, and labor cost control
Professional demeanor, exceptional communication skills, and a guest-first mindset
Ability to stay composed under pressure and maintain service excellence during peak periods
High personal integrity and commitment to upholding company and client standards
