Schedule:
Monday - Saturday 4:00am - 12:30pm
Responsibilities Material Handling & Team Support Load and unload aluminum billets or extrusion bundles and transport them safely across the facility Deliver billets to presses, load billet heaters, or support packing lines with finished goods delivery Ensure the correct materials are placed in staging areas for upcoming production needs Organize and rotate inventory using FIFO (first in, first out) principles Handle aluminum carefully to avoid damage such as dents, scratches, or contamination Safety & Equipment Compliance Perform daily pre-operation inspections on assigned forklift and document findings Follow all OSHA and company-specific safety protocols under CCR Title 8, Section 3668 Keep work areas clean, clear, and organized to ensure safe operations Report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or damaged materials promptly Inventory & Documentation Maintain accurate records for location and status of billets or finished product Assist with organizing loads by customer, press, or order to streamline workflow Teamwork & Communication Coordinate with press crews, packers, and supervisors to align material flow with production schedules Communicate clearly via radio or in-person to ensure safe and efficient forklift movements Support general plant operations and assist team members as needed Education
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire Valid California driver's license preferred Qualifications
Experience:
1+ years of forklift operation experience in a manufacturing setting (aluminum extrusion preferred). Ability to handle long, heavy, or fragile loads safely Basic math and computer skills for inventory logging and process tracking Excellent spatial awareness and judgment in tight operating zones Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts based on production needs
The base hourly pay range for this position is $21.60 - $22.80. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base pay range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued wage growth.

Sierra Aluminum is a vertically integrated aluminum extrusion mill providing standard, custom and OEM aluminum products that range from basic mill finished extrusions all the way to finished, fabricated shapes. With in-house value added services such as anodizing, painting, thermal improvement, fabrication and specialized packaging, we ensure consistent quality products delivered on time.
