Role Summary

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity. This role requires expertise in Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, wireless solutions, and WAN connectivity, along with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This role will collaborate with IT and admin teams to support organizational goals and maintain compliance with industry best practices.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks. Relevant certifications preferred, such as CCNA/CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CompTIA Network+, VMware VCP, or Aruba ACMA/ACMP. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency with Cisco networking (switch/port configuration, VLANs, routing, stacking, SFPs). Strong experience administering Palo Alto firewalls (routing, NAT, VPN, WAN configuration). Expertise in LAN/WAN routing and VLAN routing using Cisco routers. Experience deploying and configuring Aruba wireless access points. Knowledge of WAN circuits, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in DNS (Windows Server & Cloudflare) and DHCP administration. Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities with attention to detail. Skilled in documenting configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Ability to collaborate effectively across IT and admin teams. Familiarity with VMware ESXi, storage networking, Ubiquiti/HPE/Meraki/Ruckus wireless, network monitoring tools, automation (Python/Ansible), Zero Trust frameworks, and VoIP network support preferred. Essential Functions

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls. Manage VLANs, routing, NAT, and port forwarding for secure and efficient traffic flow. Configure and maintain VPN tunnels, WAN links, and remote connectivity (Palo Alto GlobalProtect). Deploy and manage Aruba wireless access points. Oversee WAN circuits, including ordering, coordinating installation, and managing ongoing performance. Administer DNS and DHCP services to ensure reliable network operations. Monitor network health, performance, and security using appropriate tools. Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated network issues. Document network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with admin teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies and security frameworks. Contributes to building and strengthening the culture of individual teams and the entire organization. Complies with federal and state laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and procedures. All positions at ESC 3 are defined as security-sensitive.
