Overview We’re seeking a
Senior Process Engineer
to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices in
the Carolinas, including Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville, Asheville, Wilmington, or Charleston.
This is a unique opportunity to work with and learn from leading experts with numerous business and professional contacts developing new process engineering opportunities. The position will support civil and environmental projects related to complex water and industrial wastewater projects across the country. It is well-suited for an experienced individual interested in leading innovative water/wastewater projects, including technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages.
The role also offers the chance to develop an existing process engineering practice into a sustainable business within Geosyntec, by developing new client contacts, collaborating with senior staff, and mentoring junior staff to support an increasing workload.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Collaboration and mentoring are core to our culture. You will work closely with experienced professionals to integrate into Geosyntec’s culture and advance your career. You will work on challenging technical projects, leveraging your knowledge to expand our practices through business development and client management. You may also take on project management, staff management, and mentoring responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic business planning targeting industrial, commercial, and municipal clients for water-related projects.
Implementing personal business development plans to expand services and revenue.
Managing projects including technical oversight, budgeting, schedule adherence, client satisfaction, and profitability.
Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior and mid-career staff.
Leading the preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
Designing water/wastewater treatment processes for various projects and locations.
Applying innovative treatment methods for pollutants, including emerging contaminants.
Developing report plans for sampling, feasibility studies, and design basis.
Preparing technical reports and cost estimates for treatment systems.
Participating in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Performing fieldwork, including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting, as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred). Required.
Advanced degree preferred.
Professional registration (e.g., P.Eng.). Required.
Minimum 8 years (preferably 10+) of experience in consulting, with relevant water projects. Required.
Experience with industrial and municipal water projects. Required.
Knowledge of local regulations. Required.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams. Required.
Proven success in client development and practice growth. Preferred.
Leadership and detail-oriented skills. Preferred.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with travel as needed. Required.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Preferred.
Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. Required.
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and background checks. Required.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Required.
