As a Smash Hand, you will ensure the proper maintenance of the company's looms and
keep the loom in operation to make production
in our Weave Room Department. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes the initiative, enjoys learning and growing as an individual and considers themselves as someone with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, as well as one who pays attention to detail. The hours for 3rd shift will be 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. EST, Sunday-Thursday, but one must be willing to work some Saturdays and overtime if needed.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain loom for the weaving process Repair warped yarn on loom when numerous threads are broken Tie thread to each end of broken warped yarn and cut off ends close to knot with scissors Draw repaired warped yarn through drop wires and reed dents, using reed hook Pick out filling yarn when defective weaving is observed Fix wrong draws, misreeds, doubles and other defects Start loom and observe operation to detect defective setup or weaving Pull over new warps Start loom after warp change and repair breaks resulting from knots passing through drop wires, needle eyes, and reed dents Make every effort to have warp board caught up for next shift Correct selvages as needed Follow all safety guidelines Maintain all quality standards Teamwork, collaboration and adaptability to changing work environment and business needs Benefits:
