UPS Field Service Engineer
A highly skilled UPS Field Engineer is needed to apply an in-depth knowledge of UPS start-up, testing, and operations. This role involves commissioning, maintenance, and emergency support for power electronics at customer sites. Key responsibilities include: Conducting commissioning-focused design reviews, preparing test procedures and reports, and overseeing on-site testing. Performing preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modifications. Coordinating with technical support to resolve maintenance or operational issues. Assisting in developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs). Reporting to a supervisor for any unusual issues or developments. Training periodically at company headquarters on testing equipment and rebuilding systems. Completing Field Service Reports promptly and providing proactive recommendations to clients. Candidate will be based from home. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience. Preferred 10+ years of relevant experience. Skilled in troubleshooting equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STSs, etc. Proficient with hand tools and test equipment for maintenance and repairs. Strong verbal, written communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative. Knowledge of equipment manufacturers' specifications. Physically capable of bending and lifting up to 100 lbs as required. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on-call when needed. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Prior experience with third-party UPS service providers is a plus. OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI is required. A technical degree (e.g., DeVry, Lincoln Tech) is a plus. Military veterans with experience in Electrical/Mechanical systems are highly valued (Navy EMN, ETN, MMNs, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard, etc.). Must have a clean driving record. Primarily regional travel within Atlanta, GA; occasional national travel may be required (not including emergencies).
