McGregor PACE
is a
Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly
(PACE site), the alternative to nursing home placement providing services that address the medical, rehabilitative, social, and personal care needs, enabling seniors to remain safely at home, in the community.
Receive GUARANTEED hours by also working in our Adult Day Health Center or escorting participants to appointments if not working home care cases.
Full and part time available.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for the day-to-day personal care and safety of the participant.
2. Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, toileting, bathing, ambulation, feeding, dressing, and participating in recreational activities; encourages independence as appropriate.
3. May be responsible for light housekeeping, laundry, assisting with meal preparation, and running errands if participant care necessitates.
4. Completes required documentation according to organizational guidelines and time frames legibly and completely.
5. Reports participant status changes to the supervisor and other staff as relevant.
6. Completes ongoing training program requirements per organizational policy.
7. Follow organizational policy for call-offs and completing timesheets.
8. Understands and utilizes principles of infection control, including handwashing, bag procedures, and care of an infectious patient.
9. Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications: HHA (Home Health Aide), CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), or STNA (State-tested Nursing Assistant) certification is required. CPR certification is preferred. Prior experience working with frail, older adults or persons with special needs is required; experience with dementia patients is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reliable transportation. Ability to lift or move 50 - 75 lbs.
