About the Job:
The Associate Manager, State and Local Government Affairs will play a key role in advancing the organization’s state and local advocacy strategy on policies impacting the quick-serve restaurant (QSR) industry. This position will primarily focus on labor/workforce, environment, food safety, franchising, and tax/trade issues. A successful candidate will bring strong policy experience, deep understanding of the legislative process, and familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities facing quick serve restaurants.
Salary Range:
$96,700 - $113,800 annually + bonus eligibility.

. Responsibilities: Support the development and execution of the organization’s state and local legislative and regulatory agenda, with a focus on QSR-relevant issues. Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting the quick serve restaurant industry. Build and maintain relationships both externally and internally with key stakeholders, including state and local lawmakers, state government agencies, industry coalitions, company subject matter experts, outside consultants, and franchisees. Create and routinely update meeting collateral, including franchisee and restaurant locations database. Support franchisee engagement in advocacy efforts, including grassroots activation emails and routine updates on legislation with franchisees and their associations. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., legal, sustainability, finance) to evaluate how policy changes impact business operations. Represent the company at industry trade groups and develop extensive relationships with industry peers and other stakeholder groups. Ensure compliance with state and local lobbying regulations and maintain accurate activity reports. Qualifications Experience in state and/or local government agency or private sector advocacy. Strong grasp of legislative and regulatory processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience with labor policy, franchising, or restaurant-industry issues is a strong plus.
