with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:
$64.49 - $74.49/hr ;W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Description: We are seeking a Sr. IT Applications Analyst to work with the Copilot program team to drive the technical enablement, governance, and optimization of Microsoft 365 Copilot across the organization. This role will combine both strategic and technical skill sets to lead efforts to evaluate, configure, and support Copilot features, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Establish governance frameworks and control systems for Copilot access, licensing, and feature availability. Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure secure and compliant Copilot usage. Evaluate existing and upcoming advanced Copilot features such as Excel Python, memory, image generation, and audio capabilities, and then work with the Copilot team to Client the art of the possible and develop introduction plans. Support user experience for both licensed and unlicensed users, including training, adoption, and troubleshooting. Monitor and respond to product updates, bug reports, and known issues, providing technical guidance and solutions, and contributing to creation of user support. Develop and manage roadmaps for enabling Copilot across remaining Microsoft 365 applications. Contribute to the configuration and governance of Copilot agents, including integration with third-party and internal systems. Contribute to both configuring and using the SharePoint Advanced Management toolset Partner with business partners on cross-functional needs, such as designing search experiences and managing branding assets. Assist with adoption and user queries, as well as identifying content that would be beneficial to highlight for existing users. Is able to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form. Recognizes appropriate times to provide this communication. Exhibits maturity, confidence and a proper level of assertiveness when needed. Effectively handles stress and frustration. Demonstrates the ability to absorb change and continue with positive results. Required Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365, experience with emerging AI tools, and a collaborative mindset to work across IT and business teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office technologies, particularly with implementing, configuring, and supporting both Modern Work and Copilot features, and demonstrate a strong understanding of IT security standards and best practices. This includes each application where M365 Copilot is integrated, such as (but not limited to): Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, Loop, ClipChamp and Whiteboard Understanding of data governance, information protection, and oversharing risks, especially in SharePoint and Outlook environments Strong interpersonal skills and written/oral communications skills to work effectively with business partners, peer IT resources, managed service providers and all levels of management Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work on multiple efforts concurrently and properly prioritize required tasks Desired Qualifications Technical Skills (in order of preference):
Copilot
Understanding support from a technical standpoint, ensuring configurations are optimal from both a user experience standpoint as well as for data protection and compliance requirements. Core functionality such as generating summaries, analyzing data, drafting content, and using Pages and Notebooks Ability to craft effective prompts using frameworks like RISEN (Role, Instruction, Steps, End Goal, Narrowing) to guide Copilot responses Understand the difference between basic vs. complex prompts, and how to refine them for better output Awareness of AI hallucinations and how to validate Copilot-generated content
Power-user status of all Modern Work applications where Copilot appears Familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing, update channels, and deployment requirements Understanding of how Microsoft Purview functionality interplays with Copilot features. Experience with applicable Duke standards, IT Security, and ability to apply/produce appropriate deliverables Experience working with remote teams Helpful traits for this role include critical thinking, self-starting, inquisitiveness, and especially, a desire to grow and learn
