Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the "NL" category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee's regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the EOF Director, the Assistant Director supervises, develops, and evaluates several EOF Program operational components: advisement and counseling, financial aid, scholarships, Summer Studies Institute, testing/placement, registration, program participation, academic support, leadership, state reports, career development, and transfer services. The Assistant Director oversees program budget and administration, acts as the EOF Director in his/her absence, administers, establishes, and evaluates program goals and objectives, and develops program policies and procedures. The Assistant Director will advise a small caseload and teach a section of the PLACE course (as needed).
DUTIES:
Supervises and ensures completion of annual performance reviews for EOF advisement staff (Student Development Specialists). Coordinates all aspects of the faculty component of the summer program: hiring of faculty with the approval of EOF Director and school Deans, faculty onboarding and training, course room reservations with Events & Conferences and Registrar for classrooms, faculty/staff meetings, organizing. Connects reports with the Testing Center, and manages faculty bookstore orders. Assists in the development of strategic vision and goals for EOF, including an annual review of the design of all EOF programs and services (Summer Program, Advising Structure, Caseload Distribution, Forms/Processes, etc.). Supports first-year students, as needed, which may include, but is not limited to, advisement and teaching summer seminar and/or spring PLACE course. Coordinates the PLACE intake process in preparation for PLACE course enrollment. Coordinates student portfolio review process. Develops PLACE syllabus in conjunction with EOF advisement staff. Works with Student Development Specialists to follow up and ensure management of their coordination of career development (programming, retreats), instructional support services (Supplemental Instruction), and leadership development (MAST, Peer Success Mentor Program). Serves as liaison on campus committees as needed, but not limited to: the Roukema Center, SAP committee, and the Academic Advisement Council (AAC). Coordinates EOF senior exit interview process with Office Coordinator. Coordinates and manages EOF internal and external transformation program, including, but not limited to application process, student orientation activities, and individual and group advisement sessions. Participates in approved in-service initiatives, workshops, seminars, and/ conferences related to job duties. Maintains a record of service to the college, including task-force membership and participation in governance bodies and committees, as approved by the EOF Director. Participates in EOF-specific admissions and recruitment activities including open houses, admitted student days, college fairs, and other activities as assigned. Participates in College-wide events, including Orientation, Arching, Commencement, Convocation, and others. Represents the EOF director at assigned meetings and conferences as needed. Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, or a closely related field is required. EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of professional relevant work experience is required. Experience in staff supervision, and advisement is required. Direct experience working with the Educational Opportunity Fund Program students (EOF) or another opportunity program is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Familiarity with Banner, financial aid regulations, career development, admissions, recruitment enrollment management, teaching, budget allocation, and the ability to work cooperatively with faculty and other administrative offices that support students' success. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and/to coordinate activities with internal and external constituencies programs.
