Mold Maker II / Lathe Programmer

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Mold Maker II / Lathe Programmer is a skilled technical role responsible for programming and operating CNC lathes, fabricating precision mold components, and supporting mold assembly and maintenance. This position requires advanced knowledge of CNC turning operations, programming, and mold-making techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a Tool and Die environment.

Essential Functions:

Program and operate CNC lathes using

GibbsCAM

to produce mold and machine components Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures for turning operations Perform first article inspections and verify part quality using precision instruments Clean, debur, and finish machined parts to meet quality standards Maintain tooling and material inventory for repeat production runs Conduct routine machine maintenance (lubrication, coolant checks, cleaning) Assist with mold assembly, fitment, and troubleshooting Operate surface grinders and manual machines as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment Required Skills:

Advanced proficiency in CNC mill, lathe, and EDM operation Create accurate programming for turning centers (GIBBS Cam preferred / will train) Strong understanding of

GD&T

and blueprint interpretation Skilled in machine setup, operation, and basic on-machine programming Proficient in using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.) Experience with mold assembly, fitment, and troubleshooting Familiarity with surface grinders and manual machining Ability to assess and repair production or maintenance equipment Strong math and computer skills (Outlook, Excel, file management) Ability to operate overhead jib cranes and perform light rigging Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Tools Required:

Must have basic tools for operating a lathe Must have indicator(s) and magnetic base(s), 01"-, 1-2", 2-3" micrometers, 6" (min) Calipers (Note: Larger inspection equipment is provided by the company). Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of standing Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required Experience:

Minimum (2) years of experience on CNC Turning Center (HAAS / Live Tooling Preferred). Benefits
