Position Overview: The Data Modeler / Data Architect will support the modernization of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) by designing, validating, and maintaining scalable data models and architectures in Azure. This role will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate, secure, and optimized data structures that enable enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain
logical and physical data models , metadata repositories, and data dictionaries. Conduct
data profiling, analysis, and validation
to ensure integrity, consistency, and accuracy across data sources. Translate business requirements and use cases into
optimized data models, flows, and database solutions . Manage and document information domain models, attributes, relationships, and integrity rules. Build and maintain centralized data models and support integration into the modernized Azure EDW. Evaluate existing data systems for
variances, discrepancies, and efficiency gaps , providing recommendations for improvements. Develop and implement
ETL/ELT processes
using SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, and scripts. Collaborate with developers, analysts, DBAs, and other teams to ensure successful delivery of project objectives. Support data modernization by leveraging
Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse, and Python . Audit databases to maintain quality standards and implement processes to ensure
data security and compliance . Participate in business and technical requirements gathering sessions. Prepare and deliver
presentations and documentation
to stakeholders, including workflows, standards, and procedural guides. Provide
knowledge transfer and training
sessions for maintaining and updating data models, metadata, and documentation. Ensure project compliance with relevant standards, frameworks, and best practices. Track assignments, update status reports, and manage deliverables within agreed timelines. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and utilize
Azure DevOps
for tracking and collaboration.
Required Skills:
5 years
of experience with
logical and physical data modeling , including use of tools such as
ErWin
or similar. 5 years
of experience managing
metadata, data dictionaries, and technical documentation . 5 years
of strong proficiency with
SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, ELT processes, scripts, and complex queries . 5 years
of working knowledge of
Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse, and Python . 5 years
of experience with
Azure DevOps
and
Agile / Scrum
development methods. 5 years
of experience
auditing databases to maintain quality
and creating systems to ensure
data security . Experience working in the
healthcare industry
with various health data sets ( nice to have ). 4-year college degree
in Computer Science or related field ( advanced study preferred).
