About the Role SwRI supports national security through electronic surveillance and signal intelligence. We develop state-of-the-art solutions for complex problems, working with government and commercial clients since the 1940s.
Objectives of This Role
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research, design, and development for national security applications.
Perform radar signal processing on HF OTHR signals.
Develop detection and parameterization algorithms, including AI/ML techniques, for radar signals in challenging environments.
Guide ionospheric science through measurement and processing of ionograms, applying AI/ML techniques for interpretation.
Design ionosonde waveforms for propagation measurement.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy signal processing capabilities in energy detection, channelization, RF geolocation, and electronic warfare.
Work with engineers and software staff to create solutions involving radar signal processing, array processing, and machine learning.
Innovate solutions for complex problems and collaborate with clients and internal teams.
Support laboratory work and travel to customer sites for system installation and support.
Lead new research initiatives with support from team members and management.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical and Computer, or Computer Engineering.
12-24 years: Radar signal processing, simulation, HF propagation, and ionogram interpretation experience.
10+ years: Experience with OTHR signals, HF tools, and ionogram analysis.
Developing algorithms for SIGINT systems; AI/ML experience preferred.
Proficiency in Linux, C/C++; Python preferred. Top Secret clearance highly desired.
Valid driver’s license.
Additional Information Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for security clearance. Job located in San Antonio, TX. Support for security investigations required.
