A fully competent Controls Field Technician applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete Controls and Building automation systems platforms such as EPMS (Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems), BAS Systems (Building Automation Systems), or BMS Systems (Building Monitor Systems) in a data center or industrial environment. Responsibilities include programming, integration, implementation, commissioning, maintenance, and emergency support on critical controls systems at customers sites within their respective regional area. Key responsibilities include: Directing and monitoring subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management, and coordination of construction and start-up services. Installing and wiring BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations. Coordinating installation of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems. Planning site activities including organizing job site materials, logistics, inventory, tools storage, and security/access. Leading installation teams during daily and weekly meetings. Supporting the development and execution of additional services through change orders. Performing cutover panels and systems in retrofit projects. Developing and implementing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities. Providing input to the project team on developing RFIs, estimating, and takeoffs for proposals. Conducting commissioning focused design reviews, preparing commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinating and overseeing on-site testing, startup, commissioning, and closeout of BAS / HVAC Controls Systems. Assisting software lead with pre-functional and functional testing. Executing troubleshooting of BAS systems including corrective actions. Participating in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders. Analyzing system operation and verifying consistency with the contracted scope of work. Performing QA / QC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools. Providing installation inspections and other closeout duties to ensure customer acceptance. Documenting and tracking issues and out of scope efforts. Discussing technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment. Attending project bid walks, engineering surveys, BAS audits, etc. Optimizing workflow and deliverables by developing templates, standards, automations, etc. Assisting in developing all project communication and reporting, including weekly progress reports. Located in the Pacific Northwest with willingness to travel to job sites in the region - 75% of the time. Critical Facilities / Data Center experience is a must. Experience with Distech Controls and Tridium Niagara BAS Platforms is highly preferred. 3-8+ years of experience with BMS / BAS Controls is preferred. Experience with systems such as JCI, Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, Automated Logic is a plus. Knowledge of critical HVAC equipment (Chillers, Air Handlers, CRAC / CRAH units, Boilers, etc.). Ability to interpret AE construction drawings, BAS shop drawings, manufacturers wiring diagrams, standards documentation, submittals, and product data sheets. Ability to follow company and site safety requirements. Must be able to complete Field Service Reports and Assignments accurately and timely. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Previous experience in the Military is a huge plus (Navy nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.). Ability to work independently and resourcefully with good initiatives. Client-facing experience and ability to serve as the primary point of client contact on various projects. Proactive, resourceful, delegator, and multitasker with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
