Duke University Hospital is seeking a visionary and experienced Clinical Operations Director to lead and support our Women's Service Line, which includes responsibility for 10-bed OB Triage, 20-bed High-Risk Labor and Delivery, 16-bed Antepartum, 28-bed Postpartum, and the Fetal Diagnostic Center. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of maternal and fetal care at one of the nation's leading academic medical centers. In this role, you will provide 24/7 operational leadership, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, staff engagement, and clinical excellence. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive innovation, optimize workflows, and support Duke's mission of advancing health through outstanding clinical care, education, and research. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership across all units within the Women's Service Line. Oversee clinical operations, staffing, and resource management to ensure safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. Partner with nursing, medical, and administrative leaders to develop and implement care delivery models tailored to the unique needs of women and families. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support staff development, recruitment, and retention through mentorship, education, and shared governance. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe environment for patients, families, and staff. Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and hospital leadership to align goals, policies, and budgetary priorities. Required Qualifications at this Level: Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in a related field required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in women's health, obstetrics, or neonatal care strongly preferred. Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS certification required.
