Controls Engineer
Who Youll Work With You will join one of our 45 US offices, be part of a dedicated team of over 1500 professionals, and collaborate with clients on impactful projects. In this role, you will collaborate with industry experts to solve complex problems for leading companies, delivering high-quality solutions with consistency and accuracy. What Youll Do Support capital projects by developing automation solutions, creating design specifications, software configuration, testing, and commissioning automated manufacturing processes. Design automation control systems and produce project documentation and drawings. Diagnose automation issues. Coordinate with teams, clients, and vendors. Configure software and hardware according to client specifications. Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition). Communicate project progress to stakeholders. Manage engineering projects and deliverables. Oversee site construction, installation, start-up, and system validation. Ensure successful system turnover to clients. Apply your skills daily to strengthen client relationships and team collaboration.
What Youll Bring Proficiency in control systems, troubleshooting, and high-pressure environments. At least 7+ years of experience as a controls engineer in industrial manufacturing, especially in food, beverage, or consumer health sectors. Experience designing automation control systems (PLC, SCADA). Knowledge of industrial control panel design and fabrication (UL508A). Understanding of instrumentation and controls (I&C). Familiarity with engineering documentation (P&IDs, process flow diagrams, SOPs). Experience with field instrumentation and control system installation. Knowledge of machine safety, electrical power distribution, and control panel design. Strong technical communication skills, report writing, and presentation abilities. Willingness to travel for project needs, including installation, start-up, and industry events. Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field (preferred).
