Job Description

Our Service Technicians are responsible for the operations, maintenance, and repair of central building system instrumentation and pneumatics equipment at a world class chemical sciences research campus. Duties include all aspects of monitoring, routine and emergency response, and operations of UPS systems, central air handling units, exhaust systems, steam systems, air compressors, and other similar/related systems. This position will be an integral member of the team to manage the daily, routine, and emergency operation of the facility to ensure 100% uptime of all systems. Experience with Siemens and/or Honeywell building automation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

On-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. A qualified candidate must have experience troubleshooting and repairing common commercial building and laboratory equipment, reading technical training manuals and writing procedures. General laboratory equipment maintenance such as hoods, balances, ovens, freezers and incubators would be in the scope. A background in electronics is required, prior laboratory or service experience is desired.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Two-year degree or equivalent related work experience. Five years of experience in instrumentation and control or installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or equivalent experience. Demonstrated use and understanding of physical standards of mass, temperature flow and pressure. Working knowledge of computers. Required to be able to read and work from blueprints, schematic diagrams and specification manuals. Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and lift heavy objects weighting up to 50 lbs. Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
