The Filler Operator is an important part of our production floor. The Operator runs and maintains fillers in a continuous flow vat to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specific methods and formulas. As a Filler Operator, you will be responsible for the quality, food safety, and product specifications.
Responsibilities:
Clean, set up, operate, and monitor filler equipment. Complete all required quality checks and documentation. Collect the required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing. Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of the product. Make adjustments to filler timing and filling; check vat as needed. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties. Perform filler equipment and filler line changeovers for the next run safely. Working knowledge with wrapper operations; watch for jams and effectively thread product wrap. Complete the cleaning checklist once the line has completed the run. Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures and report any deficiencies. Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced. Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Qualifications and Experience:
One or two years of related experience and/or training preferred. Experience analyzing and troubleshooting process data and equipment performance. Data to improve quality and throughput. Basic math competency required to perform calculations. Overtime and working on holidays are often required. Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred. Minimum age: 18 Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam. Physical Demands/Working Conditions :
May be required to lift, carry, lower 1-50lbs from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (less than 20 degrees below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time. Exposed to noise/vibration, and chemicals. Required to Stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push and pull, and reach at, above and below the shoulder. Repetition-Hand/Wrist Simple Grasping, Firm grasping.
